Durham, N.C. (Feb 3, 2020) – Core Compete, committed to Accelerating Cloud Analytics, has been selected by SAS to host and manage the SAS EMEA Hackathon.
When SAS decided to launch the SAS EMEA Hackathon 2020, they wanted to showcase how SAS Viya can solve major real-world challenges while running on the cloud and leveraging open source technologies. The theme for the event is “Together we can improve sustainability” and the challenge is to use the analytics life cycle and demonstrate progress against one of the United Nation’s Sustainability Goals.
SAS invited partners from the EMEA Partner Network to collaborate with customers and students and select projects that use smart analytics powered by Viya in tandem with open source tools such as R, Python and Jupyter. In addition, to ensure the Cloud Analytics Environment is robust, reliable, flexible, scalable and secure, the infrastructure has the flexibility to operate on any of the major cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
To ensure the event runs smoothly for the numerous teams competing from across the EMEA Region, SAS selected Core Compete as the partner to host and manage this environment. SAS has first-hand experience working with Core Compete in EMEA and North America and their extensive knowledge of SAS and SAS Viya as well as their proven track record of deploying and managing sophisticated SAS analytics workloads on all three major cloud platforms.
To support the Hackathon, Core Compete is providing a full suite of services including:
- Automated install and configuring SAS Viya on servers hosted on Azure, GCP and AWS
- Helping the Hackathon teams get onboarded into the SAS Viya environment
- Providing Managed Services during the Hackathon for a seamless experience to all participating teams
- Supporting teams throughout the duration of the Hackathon event to handle any environment incident requests
