AWS Administrator

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide on-going support for the existing production and disaster recovery infrastructure
  • Ensure all facets of the production infrastructure are available and healthy on a 24×7 basis
  • Respond to alerts and take corrective action to ensure high-availability of our production environments and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
  • Assist in Setting up and supporting the network, development, and QA environments
  • Provide input and directly participate in critical technology architecture design decisions that enhance the overall effectiveness and performance of the enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Work in coordination with other internal teams to ensure the infrastructure fully and effectively supports current and planned application systems

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in which a minimum of 2+ years of professional Services (customer facing) experience, 2+ years in AWS
  • Working knowledge of AWS with experience building a high availability infrastructure
  • In-depth Knowledge of a wide range of AWS services, strong ability to design AWS infrastructure based on the application requirements
  • Applied knowledge of architectural and design patterns on AWS
  • Strong understanding and hands experience in deploying, troubleshooting issues with Compute, Networking, Storage, Database services on AWS
  • Strong Experience in designing & implementing security in AWS
  • Working experience in AWS Monitoring & Management
  • Strong Linux Administration skills
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Internet-based technologies (DNS, Security, IP Routing, SSH, FTP, HTTP/HTTPS, Email Routing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation is preferred
  • Experience/Knowledge of other cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus
  • Collaborative, team focus along with working experience in a 24×7 uptime environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must
  • The ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations in different time zones

Travel

  • The role will require traveling globally up to 25% of the time.

Education

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
